Some
of the latest diving news Headlines:
So the elections are one their way and sometime in the next couple of months we will know for sure who has won the rather complicated election process here in Egypt. It is looking like the relatively passive Muslim Brotherhood are likely to win. It was kind of inevitable, they have helped so many over the years, were more prepared than anyone else, and are one of the less extreme parties. We shall see how things pan out for Sharm, but so far the word is that, things are likely to keep ticking along as usual. So that is a good news for us all.
A New Dawn for Egypt... Sharm's reefs reap the benefits
So we have had an absolutely incredible few weeks here in Egypt, where events have unfolded that we truly never thought would happen. The people rose up, voiced their feelings and eventually Mubarak stood down. A revolution. Thankfully Sharm was untouched by any violence, however all but the British tourists were pulled out of the whole of Egypt, hence things are a little on the quiet side. Not necessarily a bad thing, however.
Last update on Sharm el Sheikh
So Sharm went back to normal after the tragic shark attacks last winter. And, thankfully, they were not repeated this year. For the DB take on the situation you can read the article here. To answer some of your questions, the Shark Trust has created a collection of FAQ's which we have shared here

Gemma Passes her Instructor Exams:

Liveaboard The Emperor Frazer sinks near the Dunraven:
Sad news indeed. Thankfully all divers and crew are fine, and the Emperor team have spent the last few days salvaging what they can of people's posessions.
DiveBunnie becomes Lady Diver of the month:
As Clare reaches Dive number 2000, she is made Lady Diver of the Month by the gals at Lady Diver Magazine.
So it's Bye Bye Schniff, Lisa n Leila. Long time Sharmers Iain and Lisa leave Sharm this week with their little girlie Leila, who has kind of become our dive centre mascot. Good luck to the three of them in their new life up in Edinburgh.
